Privacy Policy
Last updated:
1. Who we are
This policy covers the 2048 Streak mobile game (the "Game") and this website, 2048streak.com. They are run by 2048 Streak ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].
2. Data stored on your device
The Game saves the following on your phone or tablet so you can pick up where you left off. This data stays on your device. We do not receive it, and it is not linked to your name or any account.
- Coins, levels and XP, power-ups and unlocked themes
- Best scores, statistics, trophies, daily quest progress and daily bonus streak
- Games in progress, so you can continue them later
- Settings such as sound and vibration, and your ad consent choices
You can delete it at any time with Settings > Reset progress in the Game, or by uninstalling the Game. Because it is only on your device, we cannot restore it if it is lost.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Game is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform. Ads appear between some games, and you can choose to watch short videos for in-game rewards. When the Game requests or shows an ad, Google may collect:
- Device identifiers: the Android advertising ID; on iPhone, the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, and an app-specific identifier (IDFV)
- Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version
- Ad interactions, such as which ads were shown, clicked or watched
- Diagnostic information about the ads SDK
Google uses this data to show ads, to measure them, to limit how often you see the same ad, to detect fraud and abuse, and, where you have agreed, to personalize ads. Google acts under its own privacy policy. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. We only receive aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned. These reports do not identify you.
4. Your choices
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland
On first launch, the Game shows a consent message from Google's certified consent tool. You can accept, reject, or choose purposes. If you do not consent, Google may still show limited, non-personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time with Settings > Privacy Settings in the Game.
In the United States
Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising with Settings > Privacy Settings in the Game.
On your device
- Android: open your device settings, then Google > All services > Ads, to reset or delete your advertising ID.
- iPhone: the Game asks before tracking. You can change this later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Watching reward videos is always optional.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, personalized ads and storing or reading information on your device for advertising rely on your consent. Showing non-personalized ads, measuring ads and preventing fraud rely on legitimate interests: keeping the Game free and safe. Saving your progress on your device is needed to provide the Game you asked for.
6. What we do not do
- We do not ask for your name, email or phone number in the Game, and there is no sign-in.
- The Game does not request your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not sell your personal information ourselves.
7. Children
The Game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will help remove it.
8. How long data is kept
Game data on your device stays until you reset your progress or uninstall the Game. Ad data collected by Google is kept according to Google's policies. Website statistics from Plausible and OpenPanel are kept for up to 24 months and are not linked to you personally. Google Analytics data for this website is kept for no longer than 14 months. Server logs are deleted after a short period.
9. International transfers and security
Google may process ad data and Google Analytics data in the United States and other countries. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and also uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Data is sent over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we choose services with strong protections.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. The Game keeps no personal data on our servers, and our website statistics are anonymous, so most requests are handled through the choices above, through Cookie settings on this website, or directly with Google. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days.
11. This website
This section covers 2048streak.com only; the Game does not use any of the tools below. The website runs two privacy-friendly statistics tools on our own servers for every visitor, plus Google Analytics, which sets cookies only if you agree to it.
| Tool | When it runs | Cookies | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plausible Analytics (self-hosted) | Always | None | Legitimate interests |
| OpenPanel (self-hosted) | Always | None | Legitimate interests |
| Google Analytics | Always. Cookieless pings until you accept analytics in the cookie banner | Only after you accept: _ga and _ga_* | Legitimate interests (cookieless pings), consent (cookies and full measurement) |
Plausible Analytics and OpenPanel
We run our own copies of Plausible and OpenPanel, so the statistics go to servers we operate, not to those companies. The OpenPanel loader script itself is downloaded from openpanel.dev, so that server receives your IP address when your browser fetches the file, as with any web request. They tell us how the site is used so we can improve it: pages viewed, the website you came from, clicks on links to other sites (such as the Google Play button), file downloads, and your browser, operating system, device type and approximate country, which is worked out from your IP address. They set no cookies and do not track you across other websites. Your IP address and browser details are used to count unique visitors in an anonymous way that is not kept as a personal identifier. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. Because these tools are cookieless, they are listed as essential in the cookie banner and stay on. You can object at any time by emailing [email protected], or block them with a content blocker.
Google Analytics (cookies only with your consent)
The site loads Google Analytics from Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC on every visit, using Google Consent Mode. Until you agree, it sets and reads no cookies and sends Google only cookieless pings: the page you view and the site you came from, the time, your browser type and your consent choice. Like any web request, a ping also gives Google your IP address, which Google uses to work out your approximate location and does not store. The pings carry no identifier that links your visits, and Google may use them to estimate statistics for the site. We rely on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is reached and used; you can object by emailing [email protected] or block the pings with a content blocker.
If you choose "Accept all", or turn on Analytics under "Customize", Google Analytics also sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* (kept for up to two years) and measures the pages you view, your interactions with the site, your device and browser details, and your approximate location. Google may process this data in the United States (see section 9). Google signals, ad personalization and advertising cookies are always off. See how Google uses this data.
Changing your choice
Open Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your consent at any time. When you withdraw it, the Google Analytics cookies are removed at once and Google Analytics goes back to cookieless pings. The cookie banner only appears when Google Analytics is turned on for the site.
Stored in your browser
- Your cookie choice, saved in your browser's local storage so the banner does not ask again on every visit.
- Your light or dark mode choice, if you use the switch at the top of the page, also in local storage.
- Your best score in the playable demo, also in local storage. None of these leave your browser.
Server logs
Like every website, our server may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser details, to operate and secure the site.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Game or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will also be announced in the Game or on this page.
